1974 Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce

We are delighted to offer this exceptional original RHD UK Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce onto the market. The car is finished in its original colour of Azzuro Le Mans with its original Maremma ‘wild boar’ Alfatex interior, confirmed by FCA archives. The car was built in Milan on the 26th October 1973, supplied to Alfa Romeo in London and first registered on the 19th September 1974. The Alfa Romeo has spent most of its life within just one family but during the early 1980’s, due to ill health the car was unused and neglected. In 2015 the most recent owner purchased the car from an Alfa enthusiast and dealer who had bought the car from the original owner’s family. With a mileage recorded at 52,000 and in totally original condition having been off the road for the best part of 35 years or so, the Alfa Romeo was ready for a serious amount of expenditure.

The new owner commissioned a full bare metal body restoration with Trickett's of Poole, Dorset using new parts as necessary but retaining as much of the original fabric as possible. The original engine was checked, re-commissioned as necessary, the gearbox checked, all syncro's found to be excellent and new parts included a clutch, all of the suspension including new Alfaholics lowering springs, inner wings, sills, brakes, exhaust, wheels, tyres, lights, electrics, fuel tank, fuel line etc. The interior was carefully cleaned, and detailed and brand-new carpets fitted. A detailed and comprehensive photo record of the restoration is with the car showing the body restoration at all stages including bare metal. Not only was the body restoration finished with a top-class paint finish, the inside of the shell was also painted to ensue the car was finished to the highest of standards.

As expected from the large amount of work carried out, the car drives faultlessly. The original engine and gearbox are impeccable and the sound of the all alloy twin cam engine through the stainless-steel exhaust is exhilarating. The Alfa handles superbly and is without doubt an absolute joy to drive. Sadly, the most recent owner hasn't had the time to enjoy the car, so it has only covered 2000 miles since completion of the restoration. The car is beautifully presented, the bodywork, paint and chrome are first class, the engine bay is superbly detailed, and the largely original upholstery is beautiful with nice patina and the feel of a low mileage, top quality honest car. The light wood Nardi steering wheel is in lovely condition and perfectly compliments the colour of the Alfatex hide, all the dials work perfectly, and electrics perform faultlessly. The headlining is slightly dis-coloured in places but is still tight and beautifully fitted so has not been replaced and keeps the original feel.  Four period correct Momo Vega replica alloys with correct spec Michelin tyres have been fitted and they are in immaculate condition. Since restoration the car has been maintained by one of the UK's most respected independent Alfa Romeo specialists, Peak Alfa in Derbyshire. TKP 610N is a fantastic car, it not only has provenance, originality and low mileage, it is also in truly exceptional condition and ready for the show scene or some serious touring. This is a car to enjoy and is a truly brilliant find.
