Since the mid 1990's US 8970 has covered almost 14,000 miles. The Alvis has proven to be reliable and comes with a detailed history file recording maintenance and restoration work. We have documentation detailing an engine rebuild in 2002 and further work to include a new clutch, new gearbox bearing, rebuilt carburettor and relined brakes during 1996/1997. During this period the Alvis was involved in various events to include the RAC/Norwich Union Rally, Alvis National Day Harewood House and the Alvis Club tour of Northumberland Castles. The Alvis today is in excellent mechanical condition. The car starts promptly, the engine runs smoothly holding excellent oil pressure and the 1844cc unit offers very good performance and comfortable cruising speed. The gearbox is an absolute delight to use having the benefit of synchromesh.
