ARU 541 was first registered on the 28th March 1935. We know prior to 1961 the Austin Ten was in Poole, Dorset before moving to the North of England in 1963. The 'buff' logbook shows the Reverend owner in Dorset moved to Selby and sold the car in 1964 to a fellow neighbour in the same town. In 1965 the vehicle moved to Halifax, later Pontefract and then settled in Leeds from 1969 to 2007. The one owner in Rothwell, Leeds owned the car from 1969 and registered the car in his sons name in 1998. After 38 years with the same family, the vehicle was sold to an owner Hartlepool before we sold the car to the previous owner in Harrogate back in 2010.We have previous tax discs dating back to 1971 and set of MOT certificates dating back to 1983. From these records we can see the Austin has covered over 20,000 miles since 1971 and has been kept on the road, in regular use. There are some receipts for various work over the years including a re-trim in 2006 with a reputable West Yorkshire trimmer. The Austin has been maintained very well and a result has a lovely sweet engine holding very good oil pressure. The Austin is a pleasant driver and has been used for local runs and rallies. The car still holds its original number and with hand painted bodywork, looks a real time piece.
