This delightful, largely original Austin A40 Farina was manufactured in Longbridge, Birmingham in 1965 and supplied new by Dickinson and Adams Harpenden Ltd in Hertfordshire. The Austin spent from 1965 to 1978 with its first owner in Thornton Heath, Surrey, changing hands within the family and staying in Thornton Heath until 1982. From 1982 to 1986 the Austin was in Croydon before heading to the North where it has stayed ever since. The past 30 years have been spent between Teeside, Durham, Yorkshire, Cumbria and since we last sold the car in 2013, Northumberland. In 2013 HUR 871C came to us from the Kendal, coming as a part exchange against a lovely restored Ford Anglia. We sold this Austin A40 on arrival and since then the car has covered in the region of 2000 miles, attending many shows and events across the North East. It has also been further improved with work carried out to include a new rocker cover gasket, new radiator cap, adjusted tappets, new needle and float, new sump gasket and inspection cover gaskets, new flexible brake pipes, new engine mounting, new fan belt, electronic ignition and regular servicing. The Austin has proven totally reliable and has been thoroughly enjoyed over the past three years.
