1954 Austin A40 Somerset

The Austin A40 Somerset was in production from 1952 to 1954. The model replaced the A40 Devon and featured the updated engine producing 42hp and a top speed of 69mph. Over 173,000 were produced and the model was replaced in 1954 by the Austin A40 Cambridge. The A40 Somerset was designed for export and featured a transatlantic body style and column change mounted gear change.

This lovely example has come to us from one of our regular customer's in North Wales. The interior is very smart with lovely original upholstery and the paintwork and chrome are very bright and presentable which makes it a great car to show. The A40 drives incredibly well and has recently had new hardened valves so the car can run on unleaded.
