The Austin Champ 4x4 Combat vehicle was designed by Alex Isigonis at the end of WW2. He later found fame as the designer of the original Mini. The Champ was designed as a fast attack combat vehicle to replace the American Jeep. Built between 1950 and 1955, the Champ featured 24V electrics and was amphibious in 1.5 metres of water.
Uniquely the Champ had five forward and five reverse gears giving it amazing off road ability. Many champs were fitted with machine guns or rocket launchers, less than 1000 or the 11,000 built survive.
Very original and believed 32,000 miles from new. Rolls Royce FB 40 4 cylinder petrol engine, full weather equipment and original upholstery in good condition.
Becoming hard to find.
