A total of 14,012 Austin Healey 100/4 models were produced between 1953 and 1956, with the majority of them being exported. This car, chassis number 225016 was built on 27th April 1955 for the Home market, and was first registered in Derbyshire in April 1956. It has a four speed gearbox with overdrive, similar to that produced on the BN2 variant, rather than the three speed gearbox with overdrive which was originally fitted to the BN1. The car was comprehensively restored from 1999 to 2001, and has considerable use since. The history file contains a Heritage Certificate, many invoices totalling thousands and thousands of pounds, and some photographs of the restoration.
The Healey drives particularly well, and is presented in very good condition. The upholstery has been re-trimmed tastefully with brown leather bucket seats, and the car has fibreglass wings with a slight flare, to accommodate 5"x15" wire wheels. The body has been fully restored, and mechanically thousands have been spent. More recently, the car has had over £2,000 spent on major brake and steering work.
