1966 Austin Healey 3000 MK III BJ8

This exceptional Austin Healey 3000 MKIII was imported from the United States in 1990 and fully rebuilt by a top Austin Healey specialist. Since rebuild this MKIII BJ8 has only covered 21,000 miles and has been local to us in North Yorkshire for all this time. The rebuild was carried out to a very high standard and we have a photographic record of the bare shell rebuild.

The Healey has been with the last owner since 1996 and considerable further expenditure has gone into the car. Since 2002, a great deal has spent with Healey specialists Denis Welch Motorsport including a further engine rebuild to include re-grinding the crankshaft. Further work with Denis Welch Motorsport includes new front shock absorbers and anti-roll bars, front springs and suspension handling kit. Invoices for thousands of pounds worth of work are with the vehicle.

KKH 109D presents superbly with first class bodywork and excellent paint work.  The chrome bumpers are with the Healey but the last owner has removed them for a competition look. The car looks outstanding and has a beautiful level of detail throughout the car. The condition throughout is first class. The black leather trim is in excellent order and being a late 3000 the car has nice features including walnut dash and wind up windows.

Driving the car is a huge delight with outstanding performance and handling. The car has had money spent in exactly the right places and does not disappoint on the road. The gearbox is strong with working overdrive and the engine pulls strongly and sounds fabulous whilst holding excellent oil pressure. The engine bay is stunning with a nicely detailed finish. The hood is in excellent condition and the Healey is ready to enjoy.
