1960 Austin Healey 3000 MKI
The Austin Healey 3000 was introduced in 1959, and is arguably the most famous of the Big Healey models. Powered by a 2912cc BMC C Series OHV straight six engine, the Healey was developing some 124 B.H.P.
This particular example finished in Old English White with red leather was supplied new to America and returned to the U.K in 1990. It was then converted to R.H.D and benefited from a new wiring loom, brakes and suspension overhaul and body restoration. More recently in 2000, the engine was rebuilt with an unleaded head and the gearbox and overdrive unit were overhauled. Since this major work, the car has covered around 10,000 miles. The car was beautifully re-trimmed in 1997 and invoices for all work carried out since 1992 adds up to around £25,000. The car is quite simply superb on the road, and drove here over 200 miles giving the car the most thorough test before placing it in our showroom. The top quality drive of the car really must be emphasised as it feels perfect on the road with a fabulous engine that goes unbelievably well.
Overall this is a top quality example having had thousands of pounds spent making it one of the best driving Healey's we've had. The car is ready to go onto the Continent and comes equipped with wire wheels and full weather gear.
