1959 Austin Healey Sprite MKI

This restored Austin Healey 'Frogeye' Sprite was built on the 5th March 1959. The car was dispatched on the 12th March to Central Garages Limited, Bradford and was supplied new in Old English White with red trim and black hood. Factory fitted equipment included windscreen washer, rev counter, heater, front bumper and toughened glass.

OVS 641 was purchased by the last owner in 2003 and then restored by a West Yorkshire specialist. The body restoration included new front inner wings, complete floor and correct steel bonnet. The interior work included the fitting of correct instruments, recovered dashboard, new trim set and new hood and tonneau. Chrome work was replaced and the wheels shot blasted and power coated.  The car was re-wired and the braking system overhauled. A rebuilt 948cc engine with unleaded head was fitted with smoothcase gearbox. Since the restoration work in 2003, less than 4,000 miles have been covered. Invoices for restoration work and servicing, MOT certificates and Heritage Certificate make up the comprehensive history file.

A very smart, usable 'Frogeye' perfect for regular weekend use.
