This delightful 1937 Austin Seven Ruby is an ultra reliable, usable and well presented example that would be ideal for anyone looking to make their first move into pre war open top motoring. Open top Austin Seven cars have hugely increased in value over recent years and this is a very affordable, good value car that is perfect for regular use, shows and events.
NSK 850 has at some point been converted from a Saloon and we believe this to have been carried out over 25 years ago. The car has been on the road and in use since the late 1990's and we know this the bundle of tax discs and MOT certifcates in the history file. Whilst the Austin hasn't been covering high mileage, it has been used for short and regular trips.
The last owner based on the Wirral has thoroughly enjoyed his ownership and after several years of reliable open top motoring has decided to purchase an MG TD from us. With the previous owner being involved with the Wirral Transport Museum, the Austin has been used for the short commute to Birkenhead on a weekly basis and displayed in the museum over weekends.
NSK 850 presents very nicely with a lovely deep paint finish, good quality body panels, a nicely aged upholstery and hood. The car drives superbly and we are told the engine was rebuilt some years back. The engine performs perfectly, it runs smoothly with good oil pressure and the gearbox is lovely to use. The Seven handles and brakes well and is totally on the button and ready to go.
