The Austin Seven was produced from 1922 to 1939 and proved to be one of the most popular cars built in Britain during the 1920's. Two thousand cars were made in the first year of production and within a few years the "big car in miniature" had wiped out the cycle car industry and transformed the fortunes of Austin. By 1939 when production finally ended, 290,000 cars and vans had been made.
This beautiful example has been subject of a full ground up rebuild over the past five years. The Austin has been totally stripped down and rebuilt with new parts as necessary. The engine was stripped down and rebuilt, the body restored and beautifully painted, the upholstery re-trimmed, full weather equipment including side screens and tonneau purchased and all new tyres fitted. The Austin has covered very little mileage since completion and runs perfectly with a strong engine, lovely gearbox and good brakes. The Austin brakes and handles well, charges perfectly and comes to us with current MOT test and road tax.
LAS 265 is an ideal Austin 7 to take to shows and rallies. The car presents beautifully with lovely fresh paintwork, excellent re-trimmed upholstery and has a nice level of detail having being sympathetically restored by a recent owner. This Austin has been carefully restored offering a fantastic opportunity for someone who would like an Austin 7 Tourer that does not require any work.
