1936 Austin Six Hertford Saloon

This impressive pre war Austin is a delightful older restoration with a lovely standard of paintwork, fabulous original leather upholstery and a superb, strong rebuilt engine (1997). This 1936 'Hertford' is a 16 h.p saloon that is ideal for family use or wedding work with a spacious rear with fold away picnic tables and footrests.  The car will comfortably seat five and has the original adjustable rear seat and blinds.

The Austin was treated to much improvement work in the late 1990's and was used for numerous rallies. Previous owners have used the car for holidays to Devon and Cornwall, Belgium and Germany.

The Austin is a delight to drive with a usable smooth and easy gear change. This is an instant starter with a very quiet yet powerful six cylinder engine. MOT certificates show the Austin has covered over 15,000 miles since 1991 with the speedometer now reading almost 87,000. The Austin is beautifully presented and has a lovely deep shine. The car appears very honest and from the condition of the original interior, has never been worked hard.
