This absolutely first class, fully rebuilt BSA A65 650cc motorbike was first registered on the 1st November 1968 and has covered just a few hundred miles since having a complete full rebuild to show condition.
The forks have been treated to new stanchions, seals, springs, fork nuts, gaiters, fork yokes, headlight shroud and oil seal holders. The front wheel had had a new tyre, tube, rim, stainless spokes, wheel embellisher, and powder coating. Brackets on brake plate are as new, as are the wheel bearings, wheel spindle and hub. The rear wheel has had a new tyre, tube, rim, stainless spokes, new nipples, sprocket, new brake shoes, overhauled bearings and a new brake drum and brake plate.
The engine has been treated to new valves, guide springs, piston rings, a rebore, reground crankshaft, new mains, sump filters and a new pressure relief valve. As new cams, followers & rockers, spindle, pushrods and internal bushes have all been fitted. Further engine work included a reconditioned oil pump, new gaskets and mostly new bolts, studs and nuts. New engine and gearbox sprockets, new chains and new chain tensioner have been fitted and the clutch fully overhauled. The gearbox was overhauled, damaged gears were replaced, a new main bearing and new needle rollers fitted and a new gear lever and kick start also fitted. The entire engine and gearbox were bead blasted, washed, polished and powder coated as required.
The bike was also treated to a re-conditioned fuel tank, all new chrome badges, fillers, fuel taps, fuel lines, new air filters, rebuilt carbs, new control cables. The electrical system was overhauled with new alternator, rectifier, headlight, tail lights, all new wiring connections, horn controls, plugs (new electronic ignition). The bike looks truly magnificent with all frames, fork parts, brackets , brake pedals, footrests, trailing arms, mudguard brackets, and engine plate either refurbished, powder coated or re-chromed. All mudguards have been fully refurbished/replaced a new chain guard, brake rods and all rubbers throughout the bike replaced. Further new parts include a rear shock absorbers and seat plus side panels are match painted to the tank with all original style badges. New control levers and all cables are new or reconditioned including the speedo and rev counter.
Having had a top-quality restoration with clearly no expense spared, this BSA is now ready to use and enjoy. It's a wonderful example, a real show piece and something that can be exhibited or used with pride.
