This large, impressive vintage tourer was assembled/built by General Motors Holden Pty, Sydney, Australia in 1927 and is a Four Door Deluxe Sport model. The Buick was built in right hand drive specification for the Australian market where it spent almost seventy years. In 2005 the Buick was exported out of Australia to Germany and in 2006 registered in the United Kingdom. Over the past ten years the vehicle has been in Lancashire and has come to us in part exchange from one of our regular customers near Preston. The Buick has been in regular use and our customer, now into his 80’s has used the Buick as his every day car. He likes one car at a time, likes to change annually, and doesn’t cover big mileages but likes to be able to jump and drive his car locally most days. For this reason, the Buick has had to be reliable, on the button, and capable of round town driving.
BF 4147 is equipped with the desirable 3500cc six cylinder overhead valve engine that is capable of 60mph-70mph. The Buick was a car designed for long distance driving and this car will not disappoint in terms of driveability, power and performance. The strong six cylinder engine pulls strongly, holds very good oil pressure and offers impressive performance. The Buick has a three speed gearbox as original, has been converted to 12 volt electrics and retains its correct wooden artillery wheels. BF 4147 feels strong, reliable, steers and brakes well and is ideal for regular use and long distance touring.
Our Buick is equipped with hood and sidescreens and is well presented with a smart re-trimmed upholstery and lovely clean older paintwork. The body is Old English White/Cream over Black with Dark Green upholstery and the car comes with a large luggage box to the rear. The Buick comes with a bundle of old MOT's, some invoices for maintenance, a Certificate of Verification from the Association of American Car Clubs UK, various Australian and German export papers and a Buick Reference book. There are very few of these 1927 models said to exist, so we are delighted to offer this rare opportunity to acquire a powerful, RHD vintage tourer that is very sensibly priced.
