1989 Caterham Super 7
As Caterham state themselves, the Caterham is no ordinary car. It represents the peak of driving involvement, offering a sophisticed package of handling, road holding, ride and performance. The small, lightweight two seater sports cars are renowned for their performance and handling and whilst there are various other manufacturers offering similar sports cars, Caterham actually own legal rights to the Lotus Seven design and name having bought rights when the Lotus Seven stopped production in 1972.
This stunning example has covered under 27,000 miles from new and has had one owner from new. The car has been kept in excellent condition and comes with sidescreens, tonneau and hood. Several years ago the engine was rebuilt (at 14,000 miles) with new pistons, two new conrods, new camshaft and followers, up-rated big ends with Cosworth big end bolts, compression rings from Redline Racing and an unleaded head. The car is an exceptional example that has been garaged and only taken out in good weather. The performance is exceptional and the car drives perfectly. This Caterham has the 1700cc Cross Flow engine and five speed gearbox which functions perfectly.
Fantastic fun and very quick.
