This extremely rare and desirable C1 Corvette is a matching numbers car with original 283 cubic inch V8. This very genuine and honest example has the original 2x 4 barrell Carter manual downdraft carbs with auto-choke on the rear which have proved to be more reliable than the later primitive fuel injection system. The Corvette has several extra's from new such as the 4 speed close ratio manual transmission gearbox, heater, electric windows, Hard-top, and Wonderbar self seeking radio.
The Corvette was supplied new to a businessman in Paris who later sold the vehicle to owners in the Netherlands. The car was in more recent years imported from the Netherlands to West Wales and when the owner emigrated to New Zealand, the car was found garaged in a tiny South Wales village where the last owner bought the car. A substantial history file accompanies the Corvette and includes original FIVA identity card, Netherlands registration papers and parts invoices from the Paris owner in 1963.
Today the car stands in lovely condition with a nice patina as you may expect from an older restoration. Although not recently restored, the Corvette still stands out above most cars around it. The C1 has been thoroughly enjoyed and admired by the last owner and many on lookers. Whilst not show standard, the car is presented in fine usable condition and can be put straight into use this summer. A brand new hood is ready to be fitted and the upholstery stills looks superb.
Incredibly rare and we are told between 10 - 12 are known to the club in Europe.
