1977 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

The third generation Corvette started in 1968 and ended in 1982. Styling changed subtly over the generation and minor trim changes occurred through the 1972 model. In 1973, the Corvette dropped the front chrome bumpers and it wasn't until 1974 when the rear chrome bumpers were also dropped, resulting in the first ever chrome-less production Corvette. 1976 was the last year in which the Stingray badge was used, and 1978 saw the introduction of a glass bubble rear window.

VJM 734S was manufactured in 1977 and imported to the U.K in 1980. By 1988, the Corvette was still smartly presented with a clean, straight body and very tidy original interior. At this point, in the region of £8500 was spent on the improving the car mechanically. Invoices for this work are with the car. The most significant expenditure was an engine rebuild that included new pistons and rings, main bearings, con rod bearings, polished crankshaft, new camshaft, camshaft bearings, lifters, valve springs, exhaust and intake valves. The Corvette was also treated to a new exhaust system, Holley Carb, new brake discs, pads and wheel bearings. Since this mechanical work, the Corvette has covered less than 10,000 miles and drives superbly with outstanding performance and engine that sounds and runs perfectly. The car changes up and down the gears perfectly and provides a wonderful driving experience.

The Corvette presents well with smart paintwork, exellent wheels and a lovely, clean original upholstery. Tyres are all in good condition and the car is sold with a full service and twelve months MOT.
