"All the traditional brilliance of Daimler design has influenced this new 2.5 litre (18.02 hp). You can cruise comfortably at 70mph. Cornering, even at speed, is steady and true - thanks to the patented independent front-wheel suspension system. The re-design of cylinder head and induction system gives 25% improvement in m.p.g. The new bodywork succeeds in widening the range of vision by the use of specially slim pillars, and there is excellent interior space. Daimler Fluid Transmission adds the word in driving ease".
Daimler - WITH THE FAMOUS FLUID TRANSMISSION. The Autocar, May 10th 1946
With a recorded mileage of 71,000 and MOT's dating back to 1979 when the Daimler recorded 58,000 miles, we know JLX 180 has covered 13,000 miles in the past 32 years. Between 1979 and 1994 we know the Daimler was in the Cambridge/Peterborough area before moving to Essex where it spent at least at least seven years before moving to Suffolk.
JLX 180 presents well with a straight, solid body with bright paintwork and chrome. At over 60 years old it is impressive to find an interior retaining original leather upholstery in fine order. Whilst the seats are clearly aged, they are original and are not in need of replacement. On the road the Daimler performs well with a perfectly working pre-selector gearbox. The engine is smooth and quiet with impressive performance offering a fabulous driving experience.
