This sensational Series I Daimler is a true time warp having covered just 11,000 miles from new. LHT 25L was manufactured on the 10th January 1973 finished in Lavender with Tan leather, 2.8 litre engine and manual with overdrive transmission. The Sovereign was distributed from Henlys, Bristol and stayed in Bristol with one owner for 26 years. The Daimler was very sparingly used and MOT records dating to when the car was five years are with the car. In the cars first five years it covered just 4497 miles, by 1985 5575, in 1990 the Daimler had covered 6174 miles, 1995 6546 miles and in 2004 6801 miles. When changing hands for the first time in October 2009, just 6872 miles were recorded.
LHT 25L first came to us with 8959 miles covered in 2016. It had been owned by a classic car enthusiast and collector based between Lincolnshire and Yorkshire and the Daimler came to us in a multi part exchange deal. We immediately sold the car to one of our long-term customers, a Barrister from the Harrogate area. We diligently prepared the car, carrying out a comprehensive service, replacing the choke unit and fitting a new set of tyres. We also supplied and fitted a period radio with modern internals. Since selling the Daimler two years ago it has covered around 2000 faultless miles and has been thoroughly enjoyed. Its longest journey was joining us on the West Coast of Scotland for a classic car event we hosted, covering in the region of 600 faultless miles within a couple of days.
The Daimler comes back to us in truly exceptional condition. The bodywork is superb and straight with first class panels. The Lavender paintwork has a lovely deep shine, chrome work is excellent and the engine bay is remarkably honest and original. The interior is stunning retaining original carpets, leather, door cards, headlining and dashboard in beautiful order. The upholstery is as you would expect at one or two years old and is quite simply unrepeatable. On the road performance is just as impressive as the looks. The 2.8 engine has proven totally reliable, it runs and performs superbly, holds excellent oil pressure and has been driven over to us from Harrogate perfectly. Its smooth, powerful, luxurious and the manual overdrive gearbox is slick and changes smoothly up and down the gearbox. The handling, braking, steering is delightful, LHT 25L is just effortless and delight to drive and own. This really is a very special car, one for the discerning buyer and whilst already a very rare car, its mileage and condition make it a true collector's piece.
