We have known this car for almost ten years and are pleased to have supplied it to several of our long term customers who have all thoroughly enjoyed owning this fabulous motor car. This beautiful Daimler V8250 was manufactured on the 1st May 1969 and supplied in Regency Red with Beige leather upholstery. The car was supplied new by Henlys of Bournemouth and the car is today in its original colours and retains it wonderful, beautifully aged original upholstery. Interestingly some of the very best, original Daimlers we have found over the years started life on the South Coast of England, often with retired first owners who looked after their cars particularly well. This example has a recorded mileage of 63000 that is commensurate with the delightful interior and general wear on the car. We sold the car to a regular customer back in 2009, again in 2014 to a Harrogate based customer and since 2015 it’s been owned by a collector in Bingley.
HUM 191G has a stunning, straight bodyshell with lovely bright Regency Red paintwork. The wheel archers, lower wings and door bottoms are all in excellent order and the car requires absolutely no attention in all the usual prone areas. The Daimler is structurally excellent, and the underside superbly presented with excellent sills, jacking points, floors and ‘crow's feet'. Our Malton Coachworks bodyshop painted the Daimler back in 2015 and three years on the finish is still exceptional. The chrome work is of a very good standard, the glass in fine order and chrome wire wheels and tyres are all excellent. The engine bay is highly detailed and polished and with a few hours' work is ready to compete in a local show. The interior is delightful with fabulous carpets, lovely aged leather seats, very good door cards, headlining and dashboard. The boot area is excellent and its pleasing to see an original tool kit in the spare wheel well.
The Daimler drives superbly with a strong, impressive V8 engine that had the cylinder heads rebuilt several years back. The 2.5 V8 sounds fabulous, is set up correctly and runs just perfectly. The automatic gearbox changes up and down smoothly and power assisted steering further enhances the driving experience. HUM 191G has sharp, efficient brakes and holds the road superbly. The Daimler has covered very little mileage since being treated to new anti-roll links and bushes, P.A.S pump filter and new service items.
This is a great opportunity to purchase an honest, genuine low mileage Daimler V8 that has an excellent bodyshell, sharp original interior and is in strong mechanical condition. The car would suit regular use or someone looking to attend classic car shows, rallies and events and as proven over the past ten years, it will not dissapoint.
