The Fiat 500's are hugely popular and were launched back in 1957 and were in production for a very long period. The 500 is considered as one of the first city cars and proved to be an enormously practical and popular vehicle throughout Europe and today have an incredibly strong following.
This very original Fiat 500L first came to us from Italy in February 2014 and has spent recent years in the North Eastern City of Trieste. The last owner overseas, a 65 year old Italian, emigrated to South America and as a result this car came onto the market. The 500 was imported by us and is now UK registered and roadworthy with a full MOT. We prepared the car for one of regular customers in South Wales who is building a classic car collection. As two Fiat 500's were purchased from us at the same time in 2014, the last owner decided to part exchange this car for a Mini Cooper S, one Fiat being sufficient for his collection.
Taking into account parts and labour, we spent in the region of £1750 preparing the car and as a result, the Fiat is now on the button and ready to go. We replaced the front brake shoes, four leaking wheel cylinders, two track rod ends, king pins, leafsprings, idler arm, washer pump and various new mounts and bushes. We also replaced window seals, door mirror and carried out a full service. The car is now in very good mechanical condition with an excellent engine and gearbox. The car drives well and is great fun on the road.
This 500L presents well with smart, older paintwork and a very tidy bodyshell. The Fiat has come to us with brand new bumpers ready to fit and the interior appears to be very original and in good order. The seats are nicely aged with a lovely patina and the carpets could be original. This example is ideal for regular use and would make a superb starter classic that can be driven, enjoyed and improved over time.
