The legendary Honda Super Cub is the most produced motor vehicle in history with production figures over 100 million since manufacturing began in 1958. The idea for this world beating motorcycle was conceived in 1956, when Soichiro Honda and Takeo Fujisawa toured Germany and witnessed the popularity of mopeds and lightweight motorcycles.
Fujisawa and Honda visited many showrooms to include Kreidler and Lambretta in order to research the type of motorcycle in mind. Fujisawa believed the designs he had seen had ‘no future' and his concept was a two wheeler for everyman, appealing to developed and developing countries, urban and rural. On the return to Japan, development of the Honda Super Cub began and from the outset the goals were to mass produce on a scale unseen before in Japan, exporting all around the globe. To facilitate production, Honda built a new ¥10 billion factory in Suzuka which by 1960 was the biggest motorcycle factory in the World.
This example is in beautiful condition with a superb 49cc four stroke single cylinder engine and sequential shifting three speed gearbox. The Honda came over from Japan and was UK registered in May 2019, and has recently been in the hands of a motorcycle enthusiast. The Honda reportedly arrived into the UK with just 6000 KM's and the condition is commensurate with a super low mileage example. Its presents beautifully and is just as impressive to ride. Lots of fun for the money and will most certainly not disappoint.
