This outstanding Humber 9/28 Saloon was despatched to C Clarke of Retford in March 1929. The car still retains its original registration mark VO 823 and is likely to be one of the very best Humber 9/28 models left in the World. The Humber has been rebuilt to an exceptional standard costing in the region of £12,000 between 2005 and 2008. Between 2008 and 2010 the Humber was used for events and rallies and in 2010 it was sold to the last owner in Derbyshire who has kept the car as a museum piece.
VO 823 comes with a wonderful restoration photo file detailing a first class body restoration and re-paint, full interior re-trim and full mechanical overhaul. There is no doubt this car has been restored to a show standard condition, it is truly superb both inside and out and a true credit to its restorers. The paintwork gleams, the bodywork is superb, the upholstery has been professionally re-trimmed and attention to detail is superb. The engine bay is first class and there is no doubt this is the finest pre-war Humber we have owned.
The Humber drives very well with a lovely running engine and strong gearbox. Handling and braking is very good, the Humber feels very correct and drives exactly as it should. The car cruises comfortably and is ideal for local runs, shows and events. VO 823 has made a stunning museum piece and will make a superb addition to any pre-war collection.
