We are delighted to offer this really exciting, period and perfectly used looking Jaguar C Type Replica onto the market. The vehicle was built in 1987 from a Jaguar XJ6 donor by Heritage Engineering and is equipped with a balanced Jaguar 3.8 XK with 9:1 pistons, triple twin choke Dellorto carburettors, half race camshafts, large valve cylinder head and limited slip differential. This is one of Heritage Engineerings early C Type creations and it has real provenance having being sold to a Jaguar main dealer in Reigate on completion before being sold on two occasions by Hurst Park Automobiles during the mid 1990's. The C Type has covered over 32,000 miles since build, comes with receipts of intensive maintenance totalling £29,000 since the 1990's and looks period with a fabulous patina and is used, driven and clearly from the stone chips has been thoroughly enjoyed.
Having being sold by Hurst Park for the second time, OLH 661 spent from 1996 to 2010 with one owner who initially was based in Godalming, Surrey and later moved the car into a Surrey based Storage unit due to being based in Switzerland. During this time, the car was maintained to the highest of standards and significant expenditure included an engine rebuild in 2008. Robin Lackford Motor Engineering carried substantial maintenance with invoices present for thousands of pounds worth of expenditure. It can be said with substantial evidence from the history file that this vehicle has had no expense spared and has clearly been in very good hands with in the region of £29,000 spent on the car. The C Type has spent the past few years based in France and the most recent owner has ensured the Jaguar has been properly maintained and carefully owned as previous.
The Jaguar has a wonderful presence, the car stands correctly and is a truly impressive machine. The body is in excellent order with older paint with stone chips and the odd scuff evident. It doesn't detract from the car, we would be happy to attend to these areas if required but they match the patina, age and feel of a car that should be used and driven. The upholstery is well presented, the leather seats are showing signs of age but by no means need touching. They just look right and when in the vehicle, the cockpit is impressive and the driving position just brilliant. Driving the car is an incredible experience. The noise, feel, performance are just wonderful. The 3.8 XK unit is strong, powerful and offers superb performance and the four speed gearbox feels perfect. The C Type brakes, handles and steers superbly and is something quite special to drive. If your looking for a show vehicle, this isn't the car, it is however hugely impressive on the road and looks like it's in the late 1950's having had a good few years on the race track. With just 54 genuine C Type's ever manufactured and records of vehicles selling for several million pounds, it is no surprise replicas of this quality are becoming more and more desirable.
