Jaguar E-Type Series II 2+2 Manual
Introduced in 1969, the Series II E-Type was available as a Roadster, FHC or FHC 2+2. The Series II 2+2 was only in production for a couple of seasons, but outsold it’s two seater equivalent.
This fine UK example in Regency Red has only had two owners from new, and last changed hands in 1988. At this time, the car was the subject of a four year restoration, and benefited from an overhauled back axle and engine overhaul including new pistons, re-ground crank and an unleaded cylinder head. We are also told that the car was treated to a new bonnet, boot floor, inner wheel arches and sills.
The recorded mileage is now just over 76,000, and MOT certificates dating back to the early 1990’s show that the car has had very little use over the years, around 5,000 miles in fifteen years. From the condition of the lovely original interior, the car looks to be a low mileage vehicle however this cannot be warranted.
This E-Type is first class on the road, with a beautiful purring engine and smooth gearbox. It really is a pleasure to drive, and would be perfect for long distances. It’s comfortable and handles incredibly well, and under acceleration performs magnificently. The beaming chrome work and smart paintwork really makes this E-Type look great value.
