1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Manual FHC

For every three E-Type's built, two were exported, mainly to the U.S. As American emission regulations were increasingly strangling the performance of the E-Type, the Series III emerged in 1971 with a 5.3 litre V12, based on the layout of the longer 2+2 fixed head. Production ceased in 1974, ending a distinguished life and remarkable export success story. The new V12 used an alloy cylinder block and this kept the weight down, meaning the suspension and body of the cars did not have to modified much and the engine could be sited reasonably well forward without upsetting the cars balance. The most noticeable features of the V12 model are the flared wheel aches and new style grill.

This incredibly smart U.K car has covered 99,000 miles from new and is remarkarbly original. MOT certificates date back to 1988 with the mileage at 83,087 showing the car has had collectors car use over the past twenty years. The interior is beautifully presented and shows clear signs of a very well looked after car. The exterior condition is very good with excptionally clean paintwork and very bright chrome. The engine bay is clean and has benefitted from some fine detailing. This manual car is outstanding to drive with correct oil pressure and an engine that runs perfectly. From cold the car starts instantly and runs perfectly with no smoke. The manual gearbox is excellent and the car pulls fantastically through the gears with superb acceleration.
