XSU 153 was supplied by Vicarage in 1990 to the owner of a London based Oil Company for a total price of £103,000. The modified E-Type was supplied with standard equipment to include wire wheels, mohair hood, tinted glass, Michelin XWX tyres, head restraints, stainless steel exhaust system, automatic transmission and optional extras included air conditioning, 2+2 seating for the rear, Alpine stereo, battery cut off, central locking and Rolls Royce Cobalt Blue paintwork with Tan interior. The owner wanted a unique specification combining convenience of rear seats offered by the 2+2, with the stunning looks of the Roadster, plus modern upgrades to make this the ultimate E-Type Roadster, built by work renowned Jaguar restorers famous for updating and re-engineering classic Jaguars to modern standards.
The V12's London based owner returned the car to Vicarage Ltd in Wolverhampton for regular servicing in its early years with receipts for £2075.59 and 1057.57 are on file for maintenance and upkeep in 1996 and 1997. Throughout the late 1990's and 2000's, the E-Type was maintained by Birds Automobiles in London with all receipts and invoices in the comprehensive file and by 2008, the E-Type had covered 32,000 miles since build. The car was sold by a London dealership in 2008 and a further 3000 miles were covered before £8500 worth of work was carried out on the car. Jaguar Northampton charged £1115 for removing the rear cage and replacing discs and pads, and CMC charged over £7500 for carrying out various work to include new hoses, coolant fan motor, coolant header tank, bonnet struts, front suspension bushes, front dampers, gearbox mounting bush, alternator drive belt, exhaust mountings, steering column universal joints and new power steering kit.
In 2013 at 36000 miles, the E-Type was entered into Silverstone Auctions Car-Fest where it was heavily featured due to 100% of the proceeds being donated to Children in Need. The E-Type sold to the most recent owner and in 2016 after several thousand miles of use, spent £25,000 having the E-Type completely re-painted, re-trimmed in Blue leather with brand new mohair hood and some light mechanical and electrical work carried out. Having owned the E-Type for seven years, and thoroughly enjoyed covering 6000 miles, the owner has now decided to part with the car.
