1955 Jaguar MK VII M
The Jaguar MKVII was in production from 1950 - 1954, then the MKVII M was manufactured from 1954 for only two years. The engine size remained the same size (3442cc straight six), but now the power output was 190 bhp rather than the160 bhp in the MKVII. The MKVII M was available with manual transmission or the 3 speed Bog Warner Automatic like this particular example. The MKVII M has become particualrly sought after model over recent years, with top class examples comanding high prices.
This MKVII M is a delightful example that has had thousands and thousands of pounds spent on it. The car is presented beautifully, with a high standard of paint which was done within the past ten years. Much of the bright work has been re-chromed so the car stands very well. The upholstery is very good with beautiful original leather, very good woodwork and a superb headlining. The car was restored many years ago but more recently in early 2005 the engine was rebuilt. Since then the car has been used during summer months for tourning France and taking part in rallies in the South West. The last owner has spent winter months stripping and overhauling the braking system, fuel system (new pump, steel fuel lines and re-conditioned tank) and taking the trouble to take out the engine, paint the block and detail the engine bay. The car has been thoroughly enjoyed as a drivers car in good weather, and winter months have provided hours of detailing and fettling for a meticulous owner. The Jaguar drives splendidly with an engine that has superb performance. Original handbooks and a file of invoices and MOT's accompany the car.
