1959 Jaguar MKI 3.4

This first class Jaguar 3.4 MKI was manufactured on the 20th April 1959. The Jaguar left the factory in British Racing Green with Suede Green leather and was supplied new by Henlys Limited, London. The registration mark WXX 890 is the original allocated London number and the car left the factory with discs brakes and the manual with overdrive gearbox.

We know the Jaguar spent its early years in Buckinghamshire and from a continuation green 'buff' logbook we know the Jaguar spent the 1970's in Hampshire then Dorset. In 1988 the car was acquired by a gentleman in Wiltshire who owned the car for nineteen years. Within this period we are told that the Jaguar was subject of a decade long rebuild to the very highest of standards.

Several years on from restoration and the Jaguar remains exceptional in every respect. The stunning, original Suede Green leather shows the vehicle has never had a hard life and the panel fit is exemplary with perfect closing doors. The paintwork is beautiful, as is the chrome and the body coloured wire wheels finish the car off nicely. The woodwork is highly polished and the engine bay outstanding. The car has to be amongst the very best and has been finished off with a stunning level of detail. Mechanically WXX 890 is excellent with a fabulous engine with outstanding performance. The MOSS gearbox feels very good and the overdrive works and comes in smoothly. The MKI was known to handle nicely and this car is no disappointment. This MKI is a true delight to drive and proves very enjoyable on the road. It is clear from the condition of the engine bay and underside that WXX 890 has been thoroughly restored to an excellent standard whilst retaining some original features that highlight how past owners have cared for the car. Interestingly, the Jaguar has a sliding steel sunroof which is believed to have been factory fitted when new.

With only 17,045 3.4 MKI Jaguar's ever built and an estimate of around 200 roadworthy examples left in the UK today, this fabulous model has become extremely sought after and desirable over the past few years.

Truly wonderful and certainly hard to find in this condition.
