This outstanding, largely original Jaguar MKII 3.4 has only covered 29,500 miles from new. This is a great find as top quality, original low mileage examples with good history are becoming increasingly hard to find. This beautifully presented Warwick Grey car was first registered on the 3rd May 1966 and comes with its original Jaguar Maintenance Service Book containing fifteen service stamps and the comprehensive history file also includes twenty four MOT certificates, twenty three tax discs and original green continuation logbook. We are told the car was supplied new by Rossleigh Jaguar of Edinburgh and we know the MKII stayed in Scotland until the late 1980's.
The Jaguar had its first 500 mile service on the 7th June 1966 at just over a month old. Rossleigh Jaguar continued to maintain the car with servicing at 3056 miles in January 1967, 4625 miles in August 1967, 7956 miles in September 1968, 10709 miles in September 1969 and 13410 in August 1970. MOT records from the 1970's and 1980's show steady mileage and from 1986 the Jaguar was serviced at 21524 miles and regularly from 1986 at 23016 miles, 24851 miles, 26097 miles, 27516 miles, 27766 miles, 28049 miles and 28761 miles in 1998. Throughout the 1990's and over the past twelve years the Jaguar has had occasional, careful use. Whilst this stunning car has been covering very few miles per year, it has been kept in outstanding mechanical order and has been on the button, ready to use and enjoy.
DSY 796D looks fabulous with a beautiful deep paint finish, smart chrome and a fine set of chrome wire wheels. The MKII has a fabulous, straight bodyshell with excellent panel gaps and the upholstery is beautiful and original. The red leather is in excellent condition, the original carpets nicely aged and the woodwork stunning throughout the interior. The original headlining is in excellent order and the MKII has some lovely features including rare factory fitted reclining seats and original tool kit. The under bonnet area has been nicely detailed and overall the car is presented in excellent condition.
The Jaguar drives superbly with excellent performance. The engine pulls strongly and sounds superb. Gear changes are perfect and the car handles beautifully as expected. This MKII is a fantastic original car and has excellent provenance. Not only is it difficult to find top quality MKII Jaguars but cars with such low mileage and history are in great demand. This has to be one of the lowest mileage MKII's we have come across and will make an ideal collectors piece that can be taken out and enjoyed with full confidence.
