GSG 913D has had in excess of £65,000 spent on it since the late 1990's. The initial restoration was carried out at a cost of £47,000 by Classic Restorations in Scotland and the next owner of 9 years spent a further £10,000 on further detail and improvements. The MKII was totally stripped down and was subject of a bare shell rebuild to show condition. The superb body was painted in Indigo Blue and the upholstery re-trimmed in cream leather with blue piping. The woodwork was re-veneered and polished, carpets, headlining and door cards all replaced. Mechanically the car was fully rebuilt to include an engine rebuild. Documentation for all expenditure is with the car. Chrome work was replaced and new set of chrome wire wheels fitted. Upgrades to include power assisted steering, an oil cooler, Kenlowe fan , electronic ignition and stainless steel exhaust system were also fitted to the car.
We last sold this Jaguar in 2009 to a customer working overseas. During the past two years there has been little opportunity for the owner to actually drive and enjoy the car, and as a result is now offered back onto the market. Since 2009 the Jaguar has had further expenditure to include the fitting of a T5 five speed gearbox, upgraded brakes and headlights. The Jaguar is now absolutely ideal for long distance touring and regular use.
On the road this car is sensational with a fabulous strong engine holding excellent oil pressure. The five speed gearbox is a delight to use and the car feels responsive, quick and is great fun to drive. The steering is light, the brakes efficient and the MKII handles superbly. This is a true driver's car and having had such high expenditure, the car offers a fantastic opportunity to purchase a MKII that does drive exceptionally well.
