CVJ 679L was first registered on the 25th April 1973, finished in the very attractive and rare Fern Grey with Tan leather upholstery and is the desirable Series One 4.2 Manual transmission XJ6. This car has come to us in part exchange and was last on the road in September 2018. This is a very original, straight honest example and with some careful attention will be make a lovely usable example.
The Jaguar does require work in order to be back on the road and would suit someone with mechanical skills or facilities. Having had an inspection at our Malton Coachworks workshop we can report the car will need various work to include some electrical work, a brake overhaul, a thorough service, various welding work and the car currently has a power steering leak. The engine is strong with very good oil pressure, the gearbox is smooth and changes nicely up and down the gears and the work required is not major, but mainly re-commissioning.
The Fern Grey paintwork has aged well and with a detailed polish will come up very nicely. The body panels are straight, the chrome work is serviceable with some signs of pitting and the interior is very original. This isn't a full restoration project but will need some expenditure to get back on the road but essentially is a good, straight honest car and is the most desirable of XJ6 models being the Series One 4.2 with manual transmission. We are happy to quote on carrying out the required work, or sell the car in its current condition so please enquire for further details.
