In 1981, this show standard Jaguar S3 was supplied new by Armitage Walker Ltd of Dorset Square, London. The original bill of sale is with the history file, invoiced to the Company address of the first owner in EC1, London. The first owner kept the car until 2000, with the second owner having the car for eight years. The condition of the car is quite simply outstanding, although not surprising considering the car has covered 30,800 warranted miles from new.
The Portland Beige body and paintwork is stunning and the paint finish worthy of Concours condition. The chrome work and wheels are excellent so the car is presented in a top class condition. The interior is exactly what you would expect from a 31,000 mile car, unworn and beautiful. The stunning tan leather and tan carpets are still rich in colour and have not faded due to sunlight which clearly tells us that garaging the car has been a priority. The walnut veneer dash is still in excellent condition, as is the dash top and headlining. The engine starts perfectly and sounds quiet and very smooth. The oil pressure is good from idle and the gearbox moves up and down the gears effortlessly. The kick down works perfectly and the XJ6 drives like new with superb acceleration, perfect brakes, lovely suspension and no creaks or wandering to deal with.
We first sold this exceptional car on our stand at the 2008 NEC Classic Motor Show and the buyers have gone on to purchase several classic cars from us. The Jaguar was later part exchanged for a low mileage Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible and we then sold the Jaguar again to a regular customer in Cornwall. KYH 757X has been in Cornwall since May 2011 and has covered around 500 miles. The Jaguar has been further detailed and is now being replaced for a 1940's Saloon.
