1981 Jaguar XJ6 Series III 4.2
In 1981, this exceptional Jaguar Series III was supplied new by Armitage Walker Ltd of Dorset Square, London. The original bill of sale to a London EC1 Company is included in the histrory file. The first owner kept the car until 2000, the second owner having the car for eight years. We sold it in 2008 and it's fastidious owner has just part-exchanged for an Edwardian car. The condition of the car is quite simply outstanding, although not surprising considering the total mileage of 30,327 warranted miles from new.
The Portland Beige paintwork is fabulous and worthy of 'Concours' description. The chrome work and wheels are excellent and overall the car is presented in outstanding condition. The interior is exactly what you would expect from a 30,000 mile car, unworn and beautiful. The stunning tan leather and tan carpets are still rich in colour and have not faded due to sunlight, which clearly tells us that garaging the car has been a priority. The wood veneer dash is still in excellent condition, as is the dash top and headlining. The engine starts perfectly and sounds quiet and very smooth. The oil pressure is good from idle and the gearbox moves up and down the gears effortlessly. The kick down works perfectly and the XJ6 drives like new with superb acceleration, perfect brakes, and lovely suspension.
