This highly desirable Pre HE XJS V12 was manufactured on the 4th May 1979, supplied new in Cotswold Yellow with Black trim and automatic transmission and was sold new by Mann Egerton, Nottingham. Today the car is in totally original specification and drives and presents superbly throughout.
The Jaguar was first serviced by the supplying dealer Mann Egerton on the 10thSeptember 1979 at 1575 miles and again later that year in December at 5121 miles. In March 1980 a Derbyshire based Company, Davian Service Station, Longden & Gascoigne serviced at 8700 miles and it was back with Mann Egerton in Nottingham later in 1980 at 11840 miles. The next three services were carried out at Longden & Gascoigne and the supplying dealer serviced the XJS again at 28080 miles in March 1982, and again in June at 33708 miles. Mann Egerton continued to service the Jaguar into the 1990's, with service stamps at 44769, 48366 and 49634 miles. At 66217 miles in 2000 main dealer H.A Fox in Nottingham replaced the steering rack, power steering pump, wishbone bushes, lower and upper ball joints and MOT tested after some time off the road. In 2011 the Jaguar was treated to new rear brake calipers and new rear pads including handbrake and in 2012 the car was taken to a Jaguar Specialists for front brake pads, discs, calipers and two stainless steel exhaust boxes at 68721 miles.
KNN 147V was purchased by its most recent owner in 2015 with a mileage of 70893. Between 2015 and 2017 almost £25,000 has been spent taking this largely original example to a truly exceptional standard. The intention of buying the car and spending so much money was to keep it as a long terms collectors piece and it has therefore been treated with no expense spared, with less than 1000 miles covered since the work. Due to a change in circumstances the car is now available to purchase and offers an excellent opportunity to own a top class example with provenance, history from new, in stunning condition throughout. The Jaguar has been treated to a full bare metal re-paint with any corrosion issues removed. The XJS was stripped down to a rolling shell with glass removed and as a result has a gleaming, exceptional paint finish with a perfectly straight, top class bodyshell with new rubbers. The bumpers have been re-furbished and the original interior treated to a new headlining. Mechanical work includes a gearbox service, re-conditioning the fuel rail, replacing fuel pipes and filter, re-conditioning the radiator, re-conditioning the air-conditioning radiator, fitting a new oil cooler and pipes, replacing brake flexi hoses, fitting a new wiper motor and heater valve. Further work included a new thermostat and gasket, a new water temperature sender unit, new coolant hoses, carrying out some wiring work and fitting a battery isolator switch.
KNN 147V is a beautifully presented car, it still retains a great deal of originality and comes with an excellent history. As expected, it drives superbly with a strong, excellent V12 engine, smooth automatic gearbox and with so little mileage since a new steering rack, power steering pump, all new ball joints and overhauled brakes, it really is first class on the road. This is a very special car and desirability of the pre HE models is fast on the rise with very few 70's examples left.
