This original R.H.D XK120 with matching chassis and engine numbers is quite simply the best we have come across. The car is truly magnificent and has been rebuilt to the highest of standards. On the 14th June 1951 this car left the factory and was sold new by Brylaw of Melbourne, Australia. The car stayed in Australia until 2002 when it was sold to the first U.K. owner. Some Australian documentation including the registration certificate is with the car along with UK paperwork including a Heritage certificate.
During the 1990's the XK benefitted from a full body, trim and mechanical rebuild. The restoration was carried out to the highest of standards resulting in a car worthy of winning shows and events. Since arriving in the UK in 2002 less than 2500 miles have been covered and the car still has the appearance of a car that has just completed a full restoration programme. The Old English White paintwork gleams like new and the blue upholstery is magnificent. The engine bay is highly detailed and ready to win shows. The chassis is perfect and the underside has recently been waxoyled as part of its regular maintenance and servicing. All weather equipment is in excellent condition and original steel wheels and spats are also with the car.
On the road this remarkable car is a truly wonderful experience. The strong, superb sounding engine feels fabulous holding excellent oil pressure. The MOSS gearbox is a delight to use and the car glides along gracefully. This XK is such a correct car with excellent panel gaps and continues to meet expectations on road test.
Every aspect of this car is first class and we are delighted to offer this rare, fast appreciating British sports car built in celebration of the record braking car that achieved 132.6 MPH during May 1949.
