This is the first Jensen FF we have offered onto the market in over ten years. Whilst we have had many Interceptor and CV8 models, the FF is incredibly rare with just 320 ever produced. EEA 455J was first registered on the 19th May 1971 to Jensen Motors Ltd, West Bromwich and according to the history file was kept by Jensen as a demonstrator vehicle. The FF was loaned to A.R.D Garage in Monmouthshire in September 1971 and was then loaned for demonstrator purposes to Newbury Motors in January 1972. With a mileage of 1100 Newbury Motors sold the Jensen for £5444 to Charles Clark Ltd of Wolverhampton. From here the FF stayed in the West Midlands right throughout the 1970’s, changing hands again in 1978 to Ironman Firegrates Ltd in Sutton Coldfield and in 1981 the FF sold again to a private owner who kept the car for almost 30 years, based initially in Bristol and then back in the West Midlands where the car has spent most of its life. In 2010 the Jensen was sold and moved to Northamptonshire where it spent five years during which £16,000 was been spent on the car.
Over the five year period from 2010 to 2015 the Jensen brakes were overhauled and treated to re-conditioned calipers, discs, pads, flexi hoses and master cylinder. Wheel bearings were replaced, ball joints replaced, a new voltage regulator fitted, a new exhaust rear section fitted and the carburettor rebuilt. Further work included resealing the oil pump, fitting various new coolant hoses, new starter solenoid, new power steering hose, rectifying the faulty air-conditioning system, replacing drive belts, new HT leads and regular servicing. The gearbox was also serviced and treated to new selector shafts and new seals. Cosmetic improvements included thousands of pounds being spent sympathetically restoring the original correct and lovely Beige upholstery and fitting new front and rear bumpers at the cost of £1790 alone.
EEA 455J has arrived with us showing a recorded mileage of 81000. From history with the car we believe this to be genuine. The car has been with a Harrogate based collector for the past three years and has recently had in the region of £20,000 spent on further work both cosmetic and mechanical. The FF has been treated to a full body strip down, various new metal work and full re-spray in its original colour. The result is a truly exceptional paint finish with superb straight panels and excellent gaps. The bodyshell is structurally outstanding and with its fresh gleaming, glass paint finish the car presents in first class order. The Jensen has been also been recently treated to a program of mechanical work to include new anti roll bar bushes, new handbrake pads, brake fluid change, various electrical work and replacement service items.
