The Lancia Fulvia was introduced at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. The very stylish Italian car was in production right through to 1976 and were offered in three available variants; Berlina, Coupe and Sport. The Lancia Fulvia is noted for their successful role in automobile racing history, particularly winning the International Rally Championship in 1972. The Lancia Fulvia was described in the motor industry as a 'precision motor car, an engineering tour de force'.
This very original example was first registered on the 6th February 1975. HBL 811N has been within the same family for many, many years and has only covered 68500 miles from new, touring France on many occasions and used for family holidays during the 1980's and 1990's. We are pleased to confirm this Lancia is highly original underneath and is structurally excellent. This is a model known for rust issues and we are delighted to state that the bodywork is excellent and until 2013, the car had never even been re-painted. Our bodyshop, Malton Coachworks stripped the Lancia down and reported to us that this was the first time the car had ever had paintwork. The old paintwork was dull as expected after 33 years. The paint finish is now exceptional with a gleaming finish in the vehicles original colour. Prior to paintwork, in the region of £4000 was spent on mechanical re-commissioning work after several years parked in a garage.
Since selling the car during 2013, the Lancia has had a further £3,200 resulting in almost £10,000 worth of expenditure in the past 12-18 months. This most recent expenditure included new re-conditioned brake calipers, brake pipes and unions, re-cored radiator, new hoses, stripping down carburettors, replacing the rear springs. Other improvements included detail items such as new number plates, rear lamps, reservoir cap and bonnet buffers.
The Lancia interior is totally original and has nicely aged with a lovely patina. The engine bay and boot area are both totally original and clean.
The car is great to drive and as a result of recent expenditure, is ready to go. The engine sounds and performs superbly; the gearbox a delight to use and it handles and brakes well. This is a true time warp and original, low mileage and low ownership examples are particularly hard to find.
