1977 Lancia Montecarlo Spyder

We are pleased to offer our LeJog competing Lancia Montecarlo Spyder onto the market. We bought the Lancia for the purpose of a charity fundraiser in which the car raised £5000. The car successfully completed the Le Jog rally and covered in total 2400 miles.

The car has proved to be reliable and we can say with confidence that the car can be driven anywhere. The Lancia has competed with snow on the very tops of the Welsh Mountains in the early hours of the morning to being driven in sleet and rain in the Scottish Highlands. The Lancia loves to be driven and will prove to be very good fun.

A comprehensive history file including a photo record of an early 1990's restoration is with the car. The engine was rebuilt with new 1800 pistons, oil pump and full clutch assembly. The crankshaft only required polishing and new lead indium bearings were used. The cylinder head was developed by a well known Lancia specialist over a number of years. Large valves, Kent full rally cams with vernier timing wheels were used to modify and improve performance. The distributor was modified and cambelts were changed. A new pair of DCNF carburettors on an Aquatine manifold was also fitted. The exhaust was replaced with a brand new system made by a reputable Company who build exhausts for RAC Touring cars. The system is designed to handle 200bhp at the flywheel. An additional oil pressure gauge was added along with new water hoses all new fast road/competition engine mountings and new gear linkage joints.

The original braking system and suspension were removed. New 300mm Willwood vented discs and Dynalite 4 pot racing callipers were fitted. The suspension is Koni adjustable all round. It is lowered three inches and has up rated springs.

The body was also restored and taken to pieces. The body was grit blasted and had new wings, door skins, sills and aluminium bonnet skin. The radiator cross members was replaced as was the headlight cowls. All surfaces were "twin packed" then two undercoats and three top coats finished the car off nicely.

With restoration work and modifications, between £10,000 and £15,000 has been spent on this considerably rare vehicle. The car has had regular use over many years and feels great on the road. The car has not spent months on end sitting around not been used, it really has been driven and is capable of any challenge. As with many cars rebuilt in the early 1990's, you will now find faults and imperfections but it remains extremely presentable and fit for any amount of use.
