We sold this Series IIA Land Rover around one year to a local Public House owner who has covered around 500 faultless miles in the car. The Land Rover has been used for local regular use and after some enjoyable ownership the vehicle has come to us in part exchange for an MGB. Prior to selling the Series IIA in the region of £6000 spent which included a mechanical overhaul. The Series IIA is regarded by many as the early Land Rover to own due to it being mechanically improved from the Series II and with the Series I models now commanding over £30,000 in top class condition, they look incredibly good value with the equally impressive classic look and mechanical improvements.
DRS 671A has been subject of recent major structural work having had replacement nearside and offside chassis outriggers, fabrication of new metal to the bulkhead, floors and spring hangers. The front wings were removed and the car substantially stripped down to carry out the metal work professionally and to a high standard. Interior work included new front mats, re-trimmed front seat and brand new rear seats and mat.
The Land Rover was mechanically re-commissioned and treated to all new wheel cylinders, clutch hose, brake shoes, handbrake shoes, four brake flexi pipes, wiper blades and arms, gearbox output shaft seal, repaired speedo illumination, full service and MOT. As a result of the recent work, the Land Rover is driving exceptionally well and is capable of daily use as proven over the past year. The engine runs beautifully, the gearbox is smooth and the Land Rover cruises nicely and feels strong, robust and has proven totally reliable. DRS 671A is not a show vehicle, would benefit from some engine bay detailing, does have some paint blemishes but is ready to use and enjoy. This Series IIA is one to use, enjoy and can be detailed and taken to the next level if required.
