There is no doubt that this MGA Roadster is the best we've ever had. The car has been fully rebuilt from late 2005 to June 2006, with photographs of a full ground up restoration. The car has been restored to show condition, and little mileage has been covered since. The car is magnificent in every way, the engine bay is detailed and looks better than it could of when it left the factory in 1959.
The paint finish is exceptional, as is the chrome and the brand new interior. The weather equipment is all brand new, the gauges and dash are like new, and the underneath of the car is incredible. Wheels, tyres, spare wheel and boot area are all like new, the car really is special.
The history file includes invoices, MOT's back to 1989 and a full list of work carried out by the engineering Company who restored this car. The engine was stripped and the cylinder head converted for unleaded fuel. The engine was re-assembled with all new gaskets and seals, and the unit painted in the correct deep red colour. A 'high-gear' five speed conversion gearbox was fitted, and the starter, dynamo and carburettors were stripped, overhauled and replaced.
The body was taken down to bare metal, then removed from the chassis and painted in Iris blue two pack paint. The wings, bonnet, doors and boot were painted separately, and the inner wings were painted in special stone chip coating before a finish in body colour. On completion, the body was re-assembled onto the chassis and all panels were fitted with new nuts and bolts and wing piping.
The body was waxoyled on completion.A new braided type wiring harness was installed and all electrical components re-furbished. New batteries and hold down brackets were fitted, and a new main lead to the solenoid was fitted. All new control cables were fitted.New carpets were fitted throughout and a new panel set was installed with new fasteners.
The dashboard was stripped and re-painted, and all instruments were cleaned and re-fitted. The speedometer was re-calibrated to suit new gearbox drive ratio. The seats were stripped, frames painted and rebuilt with new cushion foams and new leather in black with blue piping. A new blue tonneau cover was fitted with new fastener pegs and the hood frame was re-painted as required.
This really makes the perfect collector's car that also offers the option of longer distance touring with it's desirable five speed conversion. Not to be repeated for a very long time.
