1967 MG B GT

This stunning Mineral Blue MGB GT has been owned by the same family for the 35 years until 2013. The MG has been passed from father to daughter and in 2010 was subject of a major restoration carried out by a West Yorkshire MG specialist. Since restoration the MG has covered 2400 miles and was originally driven to us from Calverley, near Leeds performing faultlessly during the 60 mile journey here. Since selling the car to a regular customer in Hornsea, the MG has had regular weekend use, covering 1200 miles and driving back here to us faultlessly after six months of ownership. The MG has been thoroughly enjoyed over the past six months, particularly by the owner's children who were in the car most weekends. Sadly, the MG has to make way for a modern car.

During 2010 a total of £24,000 was spent on HJA 996E. The bodywork required substantial repairs and was treated to various new panels and sections. A full photographic record of the body repairs accompanies the car detailing the areas that required replacement panels. All corroded areas were cut out and replaced with new metal and brand new floors fitted. The body was then prepared for paint with the engine bay stripped and engine removed; the car was then painted in its original colour of Mineral Blue. The MGB was mechanically re-commissioned and a re-conditioned engine with unleaded head fitted to the car. A new clutch was supplied and the gearbox checked before re-fitting. A new webasto sunroof was fitted to the car and the headlining and carpets replaced. The wiring loom was replaced and various ancillaries replaced as necessary.

Since rebuild, the MG has performed faultlessly and proven perfectly reliable as you would expect after £24000 worth of expenditure. The car is structurally excellent and has a beautifully presented engine bay. The engine is excellent holding perfect oil pressure and the gearbox smooth and a delight to use. The MG didn't have the optional extra of overdrive but is fantastic cruising on A and B roads.

This is an excellent opportunity to purchase a fully rebuilt MGB that has had substantial expenditure carried out by a well-known marque specialist.  The car is in a very attractive original colour and is very well presented. HJA 996E is exceptional to drive and looks lovely with renewed chrome and painted wire wheels.
