This very clean MG has spent the last two years on the Isle of Man. The car was fully rebuilt in 2001 and from the photographic record we can see the work was carried out to a very high standard. The work was undertaken by an MG Specialist and the body work included replacement doors, inner wings, bonnet, tailgate and both outer and inner sills. The engine bay and boot area were finished with 2-pack primer and 2-pack colour to a very good standard. The engine was stripped to a bare block, re-bored and fitted with new pistons and rings. The head was converted for unleaded and the engine was re-assembled with all new gaskets and seals. The clutch was replaced and the overdrive gearbox was checked, cleaned and re-sealed as necessary. The drive shaft was painted and had new universal joints and the axle was stripped and found to be in good order. The brakes and suspension were overhauled and the upholstery was replaced.
The car appears to have covered around 7000 miles since restoration and remains in excellent mechanical order. The car drives perfectly and is presented well with a detailed engine bay and beautiful interior. The body and paintwork are still very presentable but the car does have minor blemishes that you would expect on a car restored at this time.
