This is a very special MG Midget, one with incredible provenance and true British motoring history. YBL 165 is a genuine Abingdon factory demonstrator, used for publicity photos, their press car and therefore featured in early road tests in publications such as ‘The Motor’ on June 5th 1961. Further to this impressive provenance, the YBL 165 was later owned by MG works driver Bob Neville.
The MG spent two years at Abingdon and on completion of its press tour, a member of MG's Competition department bought the car before selling the car to Bob Neville who upgraded the car with a 1275cc engine and front disc brakes (period 948cc engine also with the car). During the early 2000's the MG was subject of a major rebuild and today presents in beautiful condition. The car has just arrived with us and will be supplied with 12 months MOT, service and warranty. It is no doubt a stunning, usable example but has unrepeatable history making this an incredibly sought-after car.
