This superb MGB Roadster was first registered on the 6th April 1970 and has been with its last owner since 2010. Since purchasing the MG in 2010 £9,500 has been spent on transforming the car into a superb driving example that presents beautifully. In 2010 it was purchased as a good, useable example that had recently been treated to an engine rebuild. However, the new owner was meticulous and wanted the MGB to be mechanically and bodily superb and reliable for regular trips from Lancashire to North Yorkshire.
The MGB front suspension was rebuilt, leaf springs, bush shackles and rear shock absorbers all replaced. The brakes were re-commissioned and new parts including a master cylinder and servo. New breather hoses were fitted, the fuel pump replaced, the sender unit rebuilt and the water pump rebuilt. The heating system was all stripped and rebuilt, as was the pedal box. Gear linkages were replaced, new ignition leads fitted and a new steering wheel, hood frame and carpet set fitted. Over £4000 alone was spent on a body restoration to include new outer and inner sills, jacking points and rear ¼ panels. A further £2600 was spent on a full professional re-paint and as a result the body and paintwork are stunning.
WBW 913H has been driven to us from Lancashire on two occasions and is fabulous on the road. The suspension feels perfect, the brakes are efficient, the steering is precise and the engine is strong holding excellent oil pressure. The gearbox is great to use with excellent syncro's and the overdrive comes in and out smoothly. The MG looks superb with a smart set of chrome wire wheels, superb bumpers, new looking hood and first class paintwork and body. The underside is structurally excellent as a result of the recent expenditure and the boot area and engine bay very clean. The interior has original looking seats, excellent carpets, dashboard, door cards and steering wheel.
This is a top class driving car that is ideal for regular use and long distance touring. It has proven reliability having covered 2800 miles since 2010.
