This top class, fully restored UK supplied MGB Roadster was first registered on the 1st May 1966 and comes with an excellent history with records covering four decades. FDL 456D has been with its last Leicestershire based owner for the past 11 eleven years and has arrived with us in exceptional condition throughout. MOT records with the car show the car was in regular use throughout the 1980’s but the car spent the majority of the 1990’s off the road. The MG was subject of a restoration during the early 2000’s with invoices present and since being re MOT tested in 2003, it has covered almost 6,000 miles.
The MGB still has its original bodyshell that is in truly outstanding condition. The shell was completely rebuilt, painted inside and out and the doors, sills and panels were all waxoyled injected. The stunning body colour underside was treated to a clear coat of waxoyl two years ago and is top class. The interior has been totally re-trimmed and has MG Club Sports leather seats, excellent Black carpets, Red over mats, painted dashboard, superb door cards, new hood and also has a nicely painted detachable hard top. The boot has been fully trimmed and having had a full mechanical overhaul, the engine bay has been re-fitted to a show class standard. The MG boasts some mechanical upgrades to include cross drilled vented brake discs with ‘Green Stuff' pads, 123 electronic ignition, high torque starter, alloy rocker cover, stainless braided oil cooler hoses, high torque starter motor and silicon coolant hoses.
FDL 456D has covered little mileage since rebuild and has been impeccably well maintained. The incredibly well-presented engine bay and underside clearly demonstrate the quality of this car throughout and the costs of rebuilding an MGB to this high level could today cost double our price tag. The bodyshell is perfectly straight with excellent panel gaps, the underside as impressive as the top, the paintwork is of a beautiful standard, chrome work is all gleaming, chrome wires as new, the interior incredibly clean and sharp, the engine bay as mentioned is ready to win a show and all weather equipment is in excellent order. On the road this car is as they should be with a marvellous, strong engine holding excellent oil pressure, gear changes are perfectly smooth with excellent syncro's, the overdrives comes in lovely and smooth and the handling and braking are first class. The MG starts on the button, sounds and performs perfectly and is a car ready to be used and enjoyed. If you are looking for a top class MGB, this is not one to miss.
