1964 MGB Roadster

This lovely, well presented matching numbers ‘pull handle’ MGB Roadster was built on the 9th-10th December 1964, finished in Old English White with Black trim and equipped with wire wheels, heater, anti-roll bar and oil cooler. Still in its original colours and with its originally supplied engine, DTO 61B comes back to us six years since we sold it having covered a further 4000 miles and with various improvements that have taken this example to an extremely high standard.

Prior to originally coming to us in 2013, the MG had spent five years with a York based MG Owners Club member and MOT's with the car confirmed it had covered around 8000 miles from 1998 to 2013. Invoices in the history file also confirmed in the region of £8000 had been spent on the car prior to first arriving with us. Work included regular servicing, new starter motor, rear springs, brake pads, brake hoses, slave cylinder, new fuel tank, slave cylinder, oil cooler pipes, rocker cover gasket, various interior trim work and new wire wire wheels.

Since being with the last owner, over £3000 has been spent on further improving the car. New correct original seats have been purchased and re-trimmed and mechanical work includes a new clutch, a re-conditioned gearbox and overdrive, new engine mountings, all carried out in 2015. DTO 61B is in strong mechanical condition and is excellent to drive. The engine is strong with excellent performance and very good oil pressure, the recently rebuilt gearbox and overdrive unit are faultless and the MG offers great handling, efficient brakes and holds the road superbly.

Our MG is presents beautifully with a high quality Old English White paint finish, the bodywork is excellent with lovely straight panels and an excellent underside. The chrome work gleams with a lovely deep shine, wire wheels are excellent and the under bonnet presents exceptionally well with nicely painted inner wings and bulk head, clean ancillaries and engine unit. The interior is first class with excellent re-trimmed leather seats, superb carpets and the dashboard, gauges, steering wheel, door cards and kick panels are in lovely order. The carpeted boot is as new, and the weather equipment is all in excellent order.
