1969 MGC Roadster

BGU 770G was built from the 24th January to 5th February 1969, finished from the factory in British Racing Green with Black trim, Black soft top, Overdrive, Wire Wheels, Tonneau Cover and Fold Away Hood. The MGC started life in the US as a North American Export car and spent over twenty years with one owner in Miami, Florida. The MGC was brought into the UK by an MGC expert with over 100 MGC rebuilds to his name in 2016 and subject of a major restoration.

The MGC body was totally stripped down and treated to new inner and outer sills, new castle rails and the body was prepared with engine and ancillaries removed for a full re-paint in the cars correct colour of British Racing Green. The bodywork was stripped back to bare metal and has been treated to an outstanding, top class re-paint and gleams. The interior was re-trimmed and treated to a new dashboard, dash top, moulded carpets, door cards, new Mota-Lita steering wheel and the good quality leather seats were retained due to condition and patina. The engine was stripped down and rebuilt, it was balanced and tuned, a lightened flywheel and electronic ignition also fitted. The MGC was also treated to a re-conditioned gearbox, full professional right hand drive conversion, new carburettors, re-conditioned distributor, new wiring loom, new alternator, new petrol tank, all new brake pipework, new stainless steel exhaust system and re-calibrated speedo and rev counter. The brakes were fully overhauled and the differential checked by Hoyle Engineering.

The MGC comes with thousands of pounds worth of invoices for the restoration works and the car has covered around 3000 miles since completion. The MG has arrived with us in excellent mechanical condition, driving superbly. The 3 litre six cylinder engine is superb and strong with impressive performance, power and very good oil pressure. The four speed gearbox has smooth changes up and down the gears and the overdrive comes in and out smoothly. Steering is light, precise and handling and braking are excellent throughout road test. The C performs brilliantly and presents very well with lovely straight panels, excellent panel gaps, a top quality bodyshell and stunning British Racing Green paintwork. The hood is in excellent order, the boot area superbly painted, the interior very smart, tidy and nicely finished and the seats are original carrying a nice patina. The engine bay presents beautifully, chrome wire wheels and tyres are excellent, the chrome work gleams and this top quality, strong car is impressive in every respect and is a car ready to tour and use on a regular basis.
