HISTORY OF BROOKLYN JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB

Brooklyn JFC was formed in 1982 by Paul Potter from Rillington. The team he created had already played for a couple of seasons at West Heslerton and then obtained the use of the ground and facilities at the Brooklyn Youth Centre in Norton.

At the first meeting of the club it was decided that it should be named after the Youth Club and so Brooklyn Junior Football Club was formed. In its first season the club fielded two teams - U11's and U13's.

In 2012 The football club formed a partnership with Malton Community Sports Centre, A new home for Brooklyn FC where all teams would be based. With Football Club being based in Malton instead of Norton the club is now affiliated with the North Riding County FA.

In March 2013 the Club were awarded the most prestigious of grass roots awards by becoming an FA Community Club, One of 500 clubs in 37,000 nationwide to receive the highest of club-marks in grass roots football. The club has a 5 year development to help progress male, female, juniors and disability football over the next 5 seasons.

At the start of the 2014-15 season and two years on since Brooklyn made the move Malton Community Sport Centre the football club has seen a massive rise in teams and members. Over these two years the club has expanded from 9 teams to 19 including a new senior section boasting both male, female and an Over 35's teams.
